my work is very ‘spiritual’ in that it comes from a place that is beyond thought… if you like, you called almost call my art ‘channeled’. I paint completely in the moment with no planning or pre sketching. The designs i use, all the markings, korus, patterns etc are all from ‘inside that place’ and not taken from any studied traditional art. Of course I am heavily influenced by Maori, pacifica, indian, and many other cultural art, (as I am by the patterns in nature and al manner of lifeforms,) but i have not ‘studied’ these patterns or ways of expression purposely because i want my pieces to be an expression of my creativity, not someone elses 🙂 My work emits flow, ease, and a place of harmony. love & light. Its not what I am trying to project, more what the viewer perceives. I do hope I have adequately answered your question, thank you. Reina. x
